Under this name, the new upper middle class, avant-garde-designed VW-model rolls off the production line. The brief assigned to the Düsseldorf agency of NOMEN was that the model, with its progressive design, should receive an artistically appealing and internationally comprehensible name. Numerous naming approaches were developed and internationally reviewed for the project. “Arteon was chosen, because it contains ‘ars’ and ‘artis’, the latin words for art”, explains NOMEN boss Sybille Kircher.
